Egypt, Day 1

To spice up her band's musical influences, Candy was asked to go to Egypt to discuss music with locals. She and Marion headed off to Al Simhara, and thus began the three-day adventure of a lifetime!

The base camp has the barest essentials - tents in which to sleep, a dingy kitchen area, and slightly disgusting bathrooms. Marion, after assessing her environment, settled down with a book.

Candy approached and, apparently, reminded Marion of her desire to write books for a living. What better place to get ideas for thrilling adventures and chilling mysteries than Egypt?? Marion put away her book and checked the Adventures Board.

Marion's first assignment was to un-booby-trap a local's basement. Candy's was to talk to someone. Uh, BORING! So I paid most attention to Marion. She found the house and headed to the basement, which was on fire.

Marion wisely stuck her hand in a mysterious hole and managed to disarm the fire booby trap.

Step 1: Done!

Some of the traps are really freaking obvious. I mean, giant holes on the floor or wall? Come on, ancient Egyptians! So Marion stuck her hand in this one and disarmed a dart trap.

This isn't dangerous at all!

But then a fire trap caught her by surprise. Oops!

She got in the well to clean up.

And then, uh, she caught on fire again. This became a recurring theme.

Up on the surface, Candy had finally received her first mission: get some stuff for the head of some sinister business apparently exploiting the natives of Al Simhara. She had to go into a basement that, frankly, was a lot less dangerous than poor Marion's task.

Right away, she found a key to unlock a chained door.

Meanwhile, Marion caught on fire again.

Candy placed her key in the lock and strolled through the door.

By standing on a not-so-secret panel, she managed to unlock a new staircase!

Then she unlocked another door!

She was mildly perplexed when one secret panel just wouldn't work...every time she stepped off, the door chained itself again.

But she solved that problem by shoving a huge statue onto it.

Finally, she found what she was looking for.

She reported back to the evil corporation person, and then she and Marion, who was sick and tired of catching on fire, called it a night. Marion will return to the basement of doom tomorrow!
